On page 16, Galloway mentions how video games have hints of culture in them. In the game Sims you are allowed to live in a virtual reality, becoming whomever you want to be. Because Sims is an american game, the people who make the game included a lot of american culture. I was thinking that since it has so much culture in along with other games wouldn't it be hard to sell in other cultures?
In the reading it talks about how the player gets to control what happens and who their character becomes. And they get to escape from reality and you get to become the character. People I feel get too caught up in these vital worlds. It is kind of like they get to be someone else for awhile and maybe that is why people get so interested in video games. They get to escape this world and become someone else who probably can acts and participates in activities they would not in their real life.
Video games seem much more than a game because it gets to a much more personal level. People develop along with the characters and acts the way the player wants them to. So it more than just a game because people get to make whatever they want out of it.
